Backpacking

Backpacking burns more calories than P90x-2 workouts, of course with pack filled with the essentials for survival in the wilderness.

X-2 Balance+Power

X-2 Balance + Power: Week 3 phase 1 completed.  I am noticing my balance is not as good as thought, maybe the reps and weights make this more challenging than standard yoga balance asanas that I have practiced for years.  Of course increasing age with new options for balance make this more difficult, but I will persevere and continue practice of P90x-2 for good health.

P90X-2

This AM pushed play for Total Body X-2 and Ab Ripper X-2.  I noticed more sweat during this workout than backpack training, but no soreness after P90x-2 compared with soreness in top of feet, muscles around ankle and Achilles heel after the trek with backpack.

Now that holidays are past, I will watch diet plan more and eat healthy and have no snacks in the evening after supper meal.

New Year-another day of backpacking around neighborhood

AM hike with backpack and running shoes for 3 miles, less than an hour using power walk:  walking the straight line with feet, lower forearms parallel to ground.  Occasionally I reach back draping shoulder blades down over spine and grab the Kelty lower rounded support bar, this is good for the shoulders and takes weight off the lower back, feels good even engages the core.  Flexibility inproves, posture too, I can now easily reach into side upper pouch and grab paracord for Nalgene bottle, sipping water each mile.

Weather started off cool and foggy, sun burned off the fog and skies cleared revealed blue and white clouds, rather than the darker clouds earlier.
